Description

Buckle up folks, I’ve got a lot to tell you about the stones I used for these bracelets (which, by the way, are 6mm and the bracelets are approximately 6" in diameter)

ALL 4 bracelets are backed by 5 small beads of Hematite. Hematite’s high iron content gives it a physical power that influences strength, intuition, willpower and mental clarity. It can absorb negative energies and help you extend your safety zone. Hematite is associated with the Zodiac Sign Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 20), and is a traditional mineral used for balancing the Root Chakra.

2-3/4 of the bracelets have a type of Jasper as their main stone, so lemme tell you a bit about Jasper in general now so that I don’t have to repeat myself down below. Jasper is known as the “supreme nurturer” as it is the best stone out there for STRESS BUSTING! It supports a calm, zen-like state by absorbing negative energy and protecting your positive energies. People often wear Jaspers when they are going through something crappy.

A different 3/4 of these bracelets have some type of Agate in them, so here’s the scoop on Agate: They balance positive and negative energies in the world, promote self-confidence and provide protection (especially while traveling). Agates are one of the stones associated with the Zodiac sign Gemini (May 21 – Jun 21).

EARTH (the green one)

Main Stone: Unakite. Unakite, also known as Epidotized or Epidote Granite, got its name because it was first discovered in the Unaka mountains along North Carolina and Tennessee. Unakite gets to be associated with both the Heart Chakra (for balancing emotions) and the Third Eye Chakra (for enhancing vision). While not officially anyone’s birthstone, it can especially enhance patience and balance to people born under the Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 20) and Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 22) Zodiac signs.

Featured Stone: Crazy Lace Agate. Crazy Lace Agate is one of my favorites because it has some of the most interesting shapes in its patterns. It is also known as Mexican Agate (where it is found) and the Laughter Stone or Happy Lace. It is supposed to encourage energy, security, self-confidence and focus to stay on task and meet goals or deadlines (so an especially good one for those with ADHD!)

AIR (the white one)

Main Stone: Map Jasper. Map Jasper is mesmerizing. Its almost complete lack of chromatic color fascinates me, and I get lost in the strong and intricate banding throughout. It is a nurturing stone, associated with calm, tender loving. This stone’s energies are said to enhance inner reflection and understanding, putting people back in touch with their natural instincts.

Featured Stone: Botswana Agate. Botswana Agate has an unusual energy, traditionally believed to ward off… *checks notes* … spiders? Spiders. It does other cool stuff too like increasing attention to detail and awakening a sense of adventure and positivity. But, spiders? That’s a new one. Anyway, you can use it to stimulate your Crown Chakra too.

FIRE (the red one)

Main Stone: Red Jasper, which is probably the most common color for Jasper. Being a grounding stone it’s very often associated with the Root Chakra because of its physical and emotional strength and stamina properties. It is particularly useful for facing challenges related to your health and well-being.

Featured Stone: Tiger Skin Agate, which, ironically, is the least common Agate I have in my toolkit! These beads are a bit of a mystery to me though; the only places I can find that name referenced are in listings that sell these “Tiger Skin Agate” beads. Beyond those listings I can’t find a dang thing about them on the interwebs. Do they go by another name? Do they even exist? Do you know the answer to this?

WATER (the blue one)

Main Stone: Blue Spot Jasper, theoretically. At least, that’s what the vendor said it was… but after a little poking around on the interwebs I think it looks a lot more like this stuff called K2 maybe? The dark spots make me think it's not Sodalite for sure, but what is this one exactly? Who knows. Sorry about that. I thought I knew what it was when I made this bracelet set…

Featured Stone: Lapis Lazuli. This one I am absolutely sure of! Lapis Lazuli is easily recognizable by its breathtaking deep blue hues and tiny flashes of gold (thanks to the Pyrite, often known as “Fool’s Gold”, that dances through it). In Latin, Lapis means “stone” Lazuli comes from a word meaning “sky” or “heaven”, so Lapis Lazuli means “Stone of/from the Sky” or “Stone of/from Heaven.” Popular since ancient times, Lapis Lazuli has been a symbol of power, royalty, wisdom and spiritual enlightenment, and is sometimes said to protect against spirits of the darkness. Lapis Lazuli is commonly used for balancing the Third Eye Chakra.
